Common questions

Where should the phone go in the car?

Any mount, at any angle. In the first minutes of a drive the app calibrates itself from gravity and GPS speed.

The app doesn't notice I'm driving. What now?

Check that Eco has location access set to "Always", access to Motion & Fitness, and a car filled in under Garage. Recording starts above roughly 20 km/h, and you can also start a drive manually.

Do I need an account?

No. Eco works without an account, just without the leaderboard and groups. You can delete your account and cloud data at any time right in the app.

How do I cancel my subscription?

In iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Eco. If the app doesn't see a purchase you've made, use "Restore purchase" in the app.

How accurate are the points and fines?

They're indicative, based on Czech Act No. 361/2000 Coll. as in force from 1 January 2026. The actual amount is set by the police or the authority, and your exact points balance is only in the official driver register, whose statement the app links to.

Where do the weather and warnings come from?

The forecast comes from Apple WeatherKit; in the Czech Republic warnings come straight from ČHMÚ, the national weather service. The app matches your area on the phone, so your location isn't sent anywhere for the warnings.
